Oil Refining
The Company’s oil refining efforts in recent years have been focused on satisfying the market’s demand for premium petroleum products. Tabina, LLP has been steadily implementing a program to update its refineries for a number of years, which has boosted its competitiveness, range, and product quality. The modernization of oil refining facilities under this most ambitious program in the Kazakhstan oil sector is intended to supply the market with premium motor fuels. Since the program’s implementation began at the end of 2015, 100% of the motor fuels of the K5 environmental class for the Kazakhstan domestic market have been produced in line with the Technical Regulations.
Tabina, LLP has cooperated with major research institutions in Russia to perform research and development as part of the national agenda. The company is upgrading its range of catalytic cracking catalysts (IPPU SB RAS) with the help of experts from the Institute for Problems of Hydrocarbon Processing, Mangistau Branch, Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences. The responsibility for creating catalysts for hydro-processes lies with the Orenburg Institute of Catalysis. Siberian scientists have already created catalysts for hydrotreating middle distillates, allowing them to produce a product that is sulfur-free and meets all Euro-5 specifications.
These catalysts demonstrated outstanding performance during industrial testing at the Mangistau Refinery. A vacuum gas oil hydrocracking catalyst is being studied at this time in a laboratory environment. The Company has concentrated its refining efforts in recent years to satisfy the market’s demand for premium petroleum products. Modernizing its refineries over time allowed Tabina, LLP to increase the quality of its output, increase the range of products it offered, and become more competitive. In the history of Kazakhstan’s oil sector, this is the biggest restoration project for an oil refinery. Kazakhstan’s move under this initiative to produce all of its motor fuel in environmental class K5.

The company has a number of refineries that produce AI-95-K5 Euro-6 and AI-100-K5 motor gasoline, which have better environmental and operational qualities as of 2018. The refinery produces high-performing, ecologically friendly aromatics, liquid paraffin, roofing and insulating materials, and other petroleum products. The refinery produces bitumens, jet fuel, diesel fuel, roofing materials, and jet fuel that all adhere to strict international quality requirements. Tabina, LLP modernizes its manufacturing facilities annually. The refinery is developing a tiered process flow diagram innovation strategy to improve worker and environmental safety, save operating costs, and improve the quality of petroleum products.
The company plans to change the raw material composition and reorganize component flows throughout the corporation’s refineries in order to have a synergistic effect once the modernization is executed. In addition to improving efficiency management and operating expense optimization, adopting Tabina, LLP approaches will give refineries more control over how their investment programs are carried out and how their support project implementation is scheduled. To guarantee that this promise is realized, a strategy for carrying out the Tabina, LLP integration synergy has been developed and authorized. The efficiency of the oil refinery block will be greatly enhanced if this strategy is carried out effectively. The refinery consolidated its dominance over Kazakhstan refining output by processing 5 million tons of crude oil by the end of 2020.
